2022 Shorts Jurors

  • Opal H. Bennett
    POV Film Programmer
    Opal Bennett programs and produces at the revered PBS TV series POV. Her first season curating POV shorts won the 2020 IDA Award for Best Short Form Series. She’s been shorts programmer and director of artist development at DOC NYC, and senior programmer at Athena Film Festival, and has vast experience with myriad film festivals as a jury member and in other roles.
  • Judd Hirsch
    Actor
    Widely admired and awarded for film, theater and TV, Bronx native Judd Hirsch studied engineering and architecture before turning to acting. Signature stage work includes A Thousand Clowns, Barefoot in the Park, and I’m Not Rappaport. He’s best known as Alex Reiger on TV’s Taxi, while his vast film work includes notable roles in Ordinary People and Independence Day.
  • Liam Sherman
    Student, Emory University
    A product of Israeli immigrants, Liam Sherman was born and raised in LA with good Jewish values and great films, and majors in film studies and business at Emory. He devours movies, music and ‘90s sitcoms. He calls it research; his family sees procrastination! He makes short films, works on screenplays, writes culture reviews for Emory’s paper, and even studies.
