Synopsis
Three generations of fathers and sons seek reconciliation on a spontaneous trip to the World Cup, in this heartfelt and warmly funny Israeli-Brazilian family drama. Divorced, with a failing business, middle-aged Roberto (Asaf Goldstien)—a Brazilian expat living in Israel—seeks a change. When an opportunity presents itself, he takes his angst-ridden son and impetuous, ailing father Samuel (Antônio Petrin) to Rio de Janeiro to watch the home team’s quest for World Cup glory. Though his father and grandfather are soccer fanatics, 12-year-old Itay (Rom Barnea) despises the sport. Traveling by vintage motorhome while mending their fraught relationships, the trio’s sometimes rocky journey reveals invaluable life lessons and long-buried secrets.
