Synopsis
This poignant, groundbreaking Israeli military drama depicts the forbidden romance between two male who struggle to hide their desires while stationed at a remote, snowy outpost on the Lebanese border. Despite the army's prohibition, commander Yossi and his deputy Jagger fall deeply in love until their secret is exposed, testing their relationship. Directed by Eytan Fox and starring Ohad Knoller and Yehuda Levi, the film received critical acclaim for its emotionally honest performances and portrayal of same-sex love in the military, a largely taboo topic in Israeli culture at the time of its release. Originally produced for TV, the film's success led to a 35mm theatrical release and sparked a new wave of queer cinema in the country. Ohad Knoller won the Tribeca Film Festival Jury Award for Best Actor.
