With help from his ultra-Orthodox community, Bruno (Vincent Cassel) shelters severely autistic kids rejected by state-run hospitals. He recruits caregivers from his friend and partner Malik, a Muslim who trains poor youth seeking jobs. Underfunded and overworked, Bruno faces complications when authorities threaten to close his unlicensed facility. Frustrated by a lack of support, the men confront the French healthcare system head-on.
