Holocaust survivors plot a monstrous act of retaliation to avenge the loss of their loved ones, in this high-voltage thriller and astonishing true story. Freed from Buchenwald after the war, Max (August Diehl) discovers his family perished in the camps. Robbed of hope and full of fury, he and radical Jewish partisans hatch a secret operation to kill millions of Germans by poisoning the drinking water, a biblical eye-for-an-eye retribution. With conflicting feelings of revenge and conscience, Max wrestles with both his desire for justice and the risk of jeopardizing a future Jewish state in Palestine.
